The major missing factor, though, is trauma. Unfortunately, no character in the movie is as fully developed as Nick and Judy are, and of the characters that are developed, only Wolf, Snake, Marmalade (he's a Guinea pig, naturally), and Diane herself have any real quirks or twists to them. How's the vixen different than Nick, son? I think the main thing to know about The Bad Guys is that it "ain't that deep, fam", as the fellow kids say. It's not Zootopia-class, but it's aiming lower, at a more cartoony level. Anything talking about said past will be pretty spoilery, so if you're still here and interested, just go watch the movie.
